Superb L-series optical quality
This zoom lens heralds a new era in lens performance with a 5-stop Image Stabiliser, a 9-blade aperture, aspherical and Super UD elements and SWC and Super Spectra coatings. Fluorine coatings used on the front and rear elements allows the outer surfaces to be cleaned easily to help resist dust and scratches. The 9-blade aperture makes highlights really stand out and allows excellent depth-of-field creativity.
Weather sealing
This L-series lens features weather-sealing and fluorine coatings to guard against dust and water plus heat resistant paint to keep the lens cool in hot conditions. White heat-blocking paint ensures the lens internal components do not overheat in extreme temperatures.
Zoom ring lock
the zoom ring lock stops the lens from accidentally extending when travelling, making it a compact lens when stowed in a bag.
