We’re sure you’ll be putting your new purchase through its paces. Your equipment comes with a manufacturer’s guarantee but this won’t protect it against accidental damage. That’s where Jessops Care & Protect comes in. Jessops Care & Protect offers accidental damage protection and (after the manufacturer's guarantee has ended) breakdown cover for your selected item, and it is provided by Domestic & General Insurance PLC.

For Products between £30 - £150

What this policy covers 

 Protection of your item from accidental damage

• Breakdown after the end of the manufacturer's guarantee period

 A replacement or vouchers for the full retail price of a replacement

 Up to 3 years' protection

This insurance is provided by Domenstic & General. This policy is designed to meet demands and needs of those who wish to insure their item, for example, digital camera and/or camera accessories, against breakdown and accidental damage.

 

Not covered in this policy

There are some things that you won't be able to claim for.

These include:

 Theft, attempted theft and deliberate damage

 Cosmetic damage such as scratches or chips

 Damage caused by not following the manufacturer's instructions

 Any accessories not included with the original product

for Products over £150

What this policy covers

• Immediate cover against accidental damage

• Unlimited repairs, with no excess to pay

• A replacement or vouchers if we can't repair your product

• Up to 3 years' protection

Important information

If we provide you with replacement equipment or vouchers, your protection policy will end.

To clarify the duration: Policies last for 3 years if taken out at the same time as purchasing a product. If taken out within 30 days of the purchase of the product, policies will last until the third anniversary of the purchase date of the product.

You should be advised that extended warranties are available from other high-street outlets, insurance companies and other providers. Cover may also be available for limited periods on some appliances from your credit card provider. Some household contents insurance policies offer cover for accidental damage, fire or theft. You may, however, find that an excess is payable and a claim may affect the cost of the subsequent insurance premiums.

Note, an extended warranty does not have to be purchased at the same time as a domestic electrical good. If you decide not to buy a policy when you buy your item, any written quotation given to you will be available on the same terms and conditions for a period of 30 days. Any offers, such as discounts and vouchers, which are linked to the purchase of the policy will also remain available for that period.

Provided you’ve not made a claim, you can cancel the policy up to 45 days after your policy starts. If you do decide to cancel, we’ll give you a full refund. To cancel your policy within 45 days, simply visit any Jessops store with your purchase receipts.  See the Terms and Conditions  for what to do if you want to cancel after the first 45 days.
