The Extra Slim Samsung NX1000 is a 20.3 Megapixel camera which is part of Samsung’s Spring 2012 Compact System Camera range. It offers a wealth of amazing features such as Wi-Fi, Full HD movies, i-Function lens-based control, hotshoe flash and lots of creative features to make your own personal photographic mark.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
The NX-1000 is equipped with a Wi-Fi transmitter/ receiver that gives IEEE 802.11n support. There are numerous modes that are both cool and useful. These include the Remote Viewfinder option which lets you view your camera’s screen output on your mobile device, plus there’s emailing, cloud storage and auto backup features. All this is instantly accessible via the Smart Link Hot Key. No longer is your camera a detached accessory.
i-Function 2.0
Continuing from previous Samsung models, the i-Function system allows you to control many of the camera’s settings via the lens barrel. These functions include i-Scene and Smart Filter (includes vignetting, miniature, fisheye, sketch, defog, and halftone dot), plus there is i-Zoom (1.2x, 1.4x, 1.7x, 2.0x).
Sensitive and High Speed
This camera is designed with high speed in mind. ISO sensitivity can be set as high as 12,800 and you can fire a rapid burst of up to 30 shots at 30 frames per second! If you need to bolster the high ISO sensitivity or just need fill-in flash, then the SEF8A detachable hotshoe flash is included and has a Guide Number of 8. Also the optional EM10 external microphone operates through the hot shoe.
Full HD Movies
Movies are recorded in Full HD quality (1920x1080 pixels, 30 or 24frames/second in MP4 H.264 format). You can use Smart Filter effects and alter exposure settings for movies as well as stills and recordings have stereo sound.
Picture Modes
You can be as creative and have as much control as you want. A customisable Picture Wizard includes Vivid, Portrait, Landscape, Forest, Retro, Cool, Calm, Classic modes and changes contrast, sharpness, saturation and colour settings. As with most cameras there is Smart Auto and Scene Modes plus with this model you can also choose traditional program, priority and manual exposure modes for ultimate control.
Smart Filter and Magic Frame
For amazing “post-production” effects there are 10 smart filter modes include vignetting, miniature, fisheye and focus alterations plus old film, negative and selective colour. Magic Frame lets you place your subject on a billboard, in an old frame, on holiday or on TV or on old film plus many other wacky effects!
