18.1 Megapixel High Speed CMOS Sensor
The incredibly sensitive CMOS sensor housed in the EOS 1DX allows for ISO vales of 100-51,200 – extendable to 204,800 for shooting in everything from extra bright conditions to near total darkness. The 18 megapixel resolution exceeds that required by photo agencies and allows for enlargements up to A2 size and beyond. As it is a full frame sensor you can use 35mm format lenses on this body
Ideal for Sports Photography
With its ultra-fast 12 frames per second in AF modes, this body won’t miss that crucial frame in an action sequence, and this figure is extendable to 14fps when you select Super High Speed shooting with MF. Shoot up to 120 large JPEG images continuously or alternatively up to 36 in RAW.
Unparalleled Metering and Focusing Quality
The Reticular Autofocus system on the EOS-1DX is at time of development the most sophisticated DSLR focusing system ever released. It uses a total of 61 high precision points. 41 of these are high sensitivity cross-type sensors and the 5 in the central portion are dual cross type for extra accuracy. Metering is just as impressive, using a 100,000 pixel array which not only measures brightness but colour in order to give faithful exposure and reproduction of even the most complexly-lit subjects.
Dual DIGIC 5+ Processors
This image processing arrangement delivers extremely fast 14-bit image processing capability, for smooth tones and natural colour rendition, plus much improved noise reduction at higher ISO speeds.
Full HD Video with User Selectable Controls
HD movies are recorded up to 1080p quality and you can customise according to what exposure, compression level and audio settings you prefer. Compression formats include ALLi for a edit friendly format and IPB for superior data compression. Also includes two methods of SMPTE- compliant timecode embedding. The camera body also comes with HDMI output to allow HD playback on HDTVs or equivalent.
3.2”Anti-Glare LCD Monitor
This extra sharp monitor has a resolution of 1,040,000 dots for an accurate representation of what you’re recording. This Clear View II screen also has an extra durable, hardened anti-reflection glass structure for comfortable viewing even in bright sunlight.
Updated Sensor Cleaning
For the EOS-1D X, a second generation Ultrasonic Wave Motion cleaning system has been developed to keep your image sensor free from dust.
Ethernet Connectivity
This port is included to make easier the task of transferring your images either to your PC or local network for live sharing with clients.
