A 16.0-megapixel Live MOS Micro Four Thirds Sensor means images will be cleaner and freer of noise than ever. With newly developed processing capabilities, the low-noise pixel area and the low-noise circuit are combined, resulting in a noise level of less than one third of a conventional sensor.

The Venus Engine VI FHD also provides selective noise reduction to the outline, to let it have more naturally-balanced curve without any deterioration in resolution.

The quality advances of the LUMIX G3 are not restricted to still photos. The camera lets you record Full HD movies. Long recording times and intuitive controls help you create perfect movies with ease. The LUMIX G3’s 16.0-megapixel sensor means the camera can record in Full HD AVCHD 1920 x 1080, 50i, producing higher quality movies with minimal noise.
Due to the inter-picture prediction method for compression, the AVCHD format enjoys almost double the recording time compared to Motion JPEG. The Full-time AF and AF Tracking functionality allows you to take high-quality movies effortlessly. - Really easy to use, the live view button is fantastic...love the fact the screen flips out also. VERY LIGHT to hold and use.

- I have only owned compact cameras in the past. So I decided I wanted something a bit better this time...Great camera...considering the features it is still compact enough to place in your bag so you never miss an opportunity. Very quickly processes photo's once taken so you are able to continue taking. The 'burst mode' is very useful. I recently visited NYC and came back with some great shots. The battery life lasts around maybe 3hrs or so. I have purchased 2 more so I don't run out. Overall very happy with my purchase :)

- It's only a really little thing really, but on previous cameras I've owned they've had a colour highlight setting. It would have been nice if it was included. I've not had it long but it doesn't appear to a have panoramic setting either...unless I just haven't found it...I'm still getting to grips with the camera.
