The compact 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 lens features a handy 5.8x zoom which brings distant subjects into clear focus, and incorporates Vibration Reduction (VR) technology to eliminate camera shake, while its Silent Wave Motor (SWM) delivers quiet, swift autofocus. When teamed up with the Nikon D90’s impressive high ISO range of 200-3200, faster shutter speeds reduce the risk of blurred images when shooting moving subjects and enables clearer photos to be taken in low light.
Superbly detailed images can be enlarged considerably without any reduction in image quality, thanks to the Nikon D90’s 12.3 megapixel sensor.
Live View allows image composition using the LCD screen, with three autofocus modes ensuring sharp results. These are backed up by the D90’s 11-point AF (autofocus) system, plus clever Face Detection System which delivers perfect group shots and portraits.
The D90 also boasts five clever Advanced Scene Modes for ideal settings to deliver the best results in a variety of situations: portrait, landscape, close-up, sports and night portrait.
The awkward conditions sunny days can cause present no problems for this digital SLR, thanks to the Active D-Lighting system which reproduces the details in areas of highlight and shadow to give a truer view of what the human eye can see.
And capturing top-notch, fast-action sequences is also a doddle, as the D90 allows continuous shooting at 4.5 frames per second.
Images are kept blemish free, thanks to the D90’s Integrated Dust Reduction System, and the D90 features a large 3.0” LCD screen for easy framing, review and touching up of photos.
Movie makers will be impressed with its ability to record beautiful 720p high definition (HD) movies, with an HDMI output for convenient connection to an HD television.
All of these features have been packed into a tough, lightweight and compact body which is comfortable to hold, meaning this impressive Nikon SLR is perfect for travel and great photography on the move.
