The Nikon Coolpix A1000 is a super-compact, point-and-shoot camera that's perfect for travelling. The 35x optical zoom lens has a focal range of 24-840mm in 35mm format, so it's capable of capturing amazing landscapes and zooming in close to wildlife. The A1000 is also capable of 4K video recording at up to 30 frames per second and Full HD at up to 60 fps.
Large electronic viewfinder
Frame your shots perfectly, whether you’re exploring the city at night or shooting in bright daylight. The high-contrast, 1166k-dot electronic viewfinder (EVF) offers clear visibility for comfortable composition. An eye sensor turns on the EVF as soon as you raise the camera to your eye.
4K movies
Capture the bustle, the sounds, the sunsets. You can record stunning 4K/UHD video footage at up to 30 frames per second (fps), and Full HD at up to 60 fps. And the in-camera time-lapse movie function makes it easy to capture dramatic clips of street scenes, or storm clouds gathering.
Easy to hold
The camera’s generous grip ensures a stable hold, and the side zoom control lets you extend the lens with your thumb. A simple press of the snap-back zoom button will retract the lens to a wider angle, making it easy to pick up subjects that have moved out of shot.
Tilt screen and touch controls
Easily compose shots from intriguing angles. The large 7.6 cm (3 in), 1036k-dot tilting touchscreen monitor starts up rapidly, and lets you operate AF and shutter-release functions when you shoot in Live View. In playback mode, you can zoom in and out of images as well as toggling through them.
RAW image recording
Take full control of your photos with RAW-format shooting. All image data is preserved so you can fine-tune any aspect, using your favourite image-editing software.
Steady shooting
Target finding AF ensures subjects snap into focus quickly, even in low light. Nikon’s high-performance Vibration Reduction compensates for camera shake so you get steady photos and videos. Perfect whether you’re shooting sights from the back of a jeep or exploring the streets.
SnapBridge app
The SnapBridge app for iOS and Android enables an always-on connection between your camera and your smartphone/tablet. Share your photos right there in the moment. Track your trips via the GPS on your smart device, which SnapBridge uses to update your camera’s date and location.
