The high quality 6x zoom lens features Canon's exclusive SR coating for pin sharp clarity and reduced ghosting. To make the most of the long zoom range, the optical image stabiliser also keeps camera shake to a minimum.
RAW image recording
Records images literally as raw data with no compression and therefore no loss of quality. RAW Image Task software then gives you total control over image settings and parameters for post-shoot editing. Simultaneous RAW and JPEG shooting is also available for greater flexibility.
DIGIC III Processor
For high speed operation and clear, sharp images. Canon's iSAPS function also uses programmed data to recoggnise scene types and thus optimise camera settings. In adition, face detection is also employed with the option of "Face Select and Track". This allows you to choose a face from up to 35 that have been identified by the camera and select it as the primary subject. Red eye correction is also possible during playback.
9-point AiAF and FlexiZone AF/AE
Choose between manual focus, rapid 9-point AiAF or FlexiZone AF/AE to manually select a specific auto-focus point.
ISO 1600 and Auto ISO Shift
With ISO 1600 mode in operation, the image stabiliser is also employed to minimise blur. Auto ISO shift will automatically increase the ISO sensitivity if the camera detects the possibility of blur occuring.
Shooting Modes and My Colors
25 separate shooting modes range from automatic to full manual control, including two custom settings. The My Colors tool applies in-camera colour effects during or after shooting.
In addition to having a built in flash, this camera is also fully compatible with Canon's EX range of flashguns.
