Join Joe Cornish, the Academy Team and Sony for an exclusive trip to the Peak District in the centre of England.

Three days taking place in November 2017 – a unique opportunity to learn from and spend time one of the industries leading landscape photographers whilst also getting hands on time with the newest Sony equipment.

The trip will consist of a mixture of outdoor excursions, image sharing, equipment discussions and aspects of post-production.

Due to the nature of this trip, weather and light conditions will be major factors in where and when the locations are visited and a full agenda will be revealed on the trip.

Sony will have a full range of equipment for attendees to use throughout the trip as well as several lens adaptors for customer use if you wish to bring your own lenses.

Accommodation, breakfast and lunch are included within the price. Customers are required to arrange their own travel to and from the shooting locations.

The first evening will be a chance to meet Joe and the rest of the team for the trip as well as dicuss the planned activities.

Day two will likely include a sunrise excursion and sunset trip as well as some theory sessions back at the hotel – topics covered to include image review, equipment choice and selection and post-production.

Day three will be similar but with alternative locations and a final sunset location.

Joe Cornish is widely regarded as one of Britains top landscape photographers and he loves being out and about with his camera and is also a Sony Global Imaging Ambassador. With experience from around the UK, and now the globe, there are very few places Joe hasn’t been!

More information on Joe can be found here: https://imagingambassadors.sony.net/ambassadors/joe-cornish/

Sony Imaging will also have a representative on hand throughout the trip to offer support and a full range of the latest Sony cameras and lenses for customers to use at their free will.

As well as this at least one member of our award winning Academy Training Team will be on hand at all times to give advice and guidance on photographic equipment and knowledge. All of our trainers are experienced photographers and have a broad knowledge of all camera manufacturers and types, to ensure that you’re able to make the most of each day.

A previous knowledge of exposure - Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO is advisable for this experience. However, our expert academy tutor will be on hand to help with any settings you’re feeling less confident about to ensure you get the results you want.

You’ll need to ensure that each day you have:

Fully charged camera batteries (and any spares if you have them)

Memory cards with a large capacity to capture RAW files.

Lenses that offer a variety of focal lengths – a wide-angle lens for landscapes, and a long telephoto lens for any wildlife we may encounter.

A sturdy tripod, a remote shutter release and a circular polarizing filter are a must for spectacular landscape photography.

As this is an outdoor experience and we are visiting areas which will be on uneven terrain, it is advisable to bring warm waterproof clothing and protective footwear (waterproof walking boots are recommended). It’s worth noting that although the majority of our shoot locations are a short walk from our parking areas, some are a 30 minute walk or so and you should be prepared for a short hike. With this in mind, good general fitness is required and of course, we will never leave a team member behind.
