High Sensitivity 10 Megapixel CMOS Sensor
The Back Illuminated CMOS sensor found on the Ixus 300 HS has great noise rejection so your pictures are far less grainy, even in the dimmest lighting. It also has a wide dynamic range which gives vibrant images with lots of contrast.

High Quality Optical System
The Bright f/2.0 lens on the Ixus 300 HS means that sensitivity to low light is further improved. Its 3.8x zoom lens includes a 28mm equivalent wideangle setting which is ideal for group photos as well as indoor photography and big landscape scenes. Optical Image Stabilisation ensures that camera shake is corrected without any loss of image quality.

High Speed DIGIC 4 Processor
The high image processing speed of this camera means that several high speed features are present on this camera which make it stand out from the rest:

• Slow Motion mode with super-fast 240 frames-per-second shooting for approx 1/10 speed slow motion without losing smoothness of motion
• Up to 8.4 frames per second still image burst mode. 8.4 fps is at 2.5MP resolution and 3.7fps is possible at full resolution.
• Full Resolution shooting at ISO 3200 (extendable to ISO 6400 at 2.5MP)

Large, Clear Monitor
The large 3.0” PureColor II G monitor has widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio which is ideal for shooting HD video, plus a tempered glass layer improves robustness and image clarity in bright conditions.

Smart Auto with Smart Flash Exposure
The Ixus 300 HS Smart Auto mode assesses brightness, contrast, distance and hue information and automatically compares these to 22 preset scene types to give the very best image quality. If you prefer to have creative control, there are also the traditional P, Av, and Tv modes for extra user control.

Smart Flash blends ambient and flash illumination to give a balanced image while Smart Shutter has Smile, Wink Self-Timer and Face Self-Timer which will trigger the shutter when you smile, wink or allow another face into the frame.

HD Movies
The Ixus 300 HS can record movies in 720p HD quality with stereo sound and with optical zoom. Its HDMI output allows HD viewing on your HD-Ready TV (using an optional cable).

Creative Effects
You can add striking effects to your pictures such as simulations of fisheye lenses, miniature and low light scenes.
