Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM

The Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM lens is an extremely popular choice for Canon EOS owners who specialise in portrait photography. Its short telephoto perspective is flattering to subjects and offers control over depth of field.

Its fast aperture of f1.8 means that it is both suitable for shooting in very low light and can have very shallow depth of field if desired. Focusing speed is fast too thanks to the USM focus motor which also has full time manual focus override. Super Spectra coatings keep ghosting and flare to an absolute minimum thus providing excellent colour and contrast.
