The 12 megapixel Canon PowerShot SX220HS gives both the convenience of point-and-shoot simplicity with its automatic selection from 32 scene types and the full control of manual exposure and priority modes. Add to this the huge 14x wideangle zoom range and High Sensitivity (HS) sensor, and you have a stylish camera that’s also a formidable photographic tool. 14x Wideangle Zoom
The huge 14x zoom lens on the SX 220IS gives the equivalent focal length of 28-392mm on a 35mm camera. In other words any perspective from wide angle (ideal for confined spaces) to long telephoto (for picking out distant detail) is covered. This remarkable lens is also equipped with Optical Image Stabilisation to ensure images are protected from blurring, even at longer focal lengths.

HS System
The Power-shot SX 220HS is equipped with a High Sensitivity 12.1 Megapixel Sensor (HS System). This back-illuminated CMOS sensor is more efficient than conventional sensors allowing more light to be sampled. This means fewer errors and therefore less image noise and the ability to shoot better photos in low light.

Full HD Movies
Record movies in full 1080p HD quality with Optical Zoom, Dynamic IS and Stereo sound. Dynamic IS (image stabilisation) is enhanced image stabilisation and suited to the larger arm movements often encountered during movie recording.

3.0” (7.5cm) LCD Monitor
The LCD monitor is Canon’s PureColor II G design which has a tempered glass outer layer. This layer helps to cut out glare in bright sunny conditions. The large 3.0” screen also gives an extra clear preview of your image, ensuring you can confirm your images are in focus.
