This 500mm super telephoto lens features an Image Stabiliser system and a large maximum aperture of f/4. Its optical system consists of 17 elements in 13 groups, including one fluorite and two UD lensesWith secondary spectrum completely eliminated, it provides sharp, high contrast imaging performance. Ring USM drive and inner focusing help ensure that autofocusing speed is at the highest level in the world*. Adding further to its appeal are full-time manual focus, focus preset and an AF stop function that allows the photographer to quickly shut off autofocus When used with the EOS-3 and Extender EF2x, it allows autofocus at 1,000mm. Ideal for a wide range of applications including sports, nature and wildlife photography.
