Extra Long Zoom
The extra powerful 24x optical zoom covers the equivalent of a focal length of 25-600mm on a traditional 35mm camera. In other words it’s all covered, right from extra wide angle for indoor shots or that team picture – to distant details being picked out such as for wildlife or stadium events. The Leica DC Vario Elmarit optic features nano-surface coating for fantastic levels of contrast and reduced flare. POWER OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) is included and the Active Mode is suited to handheld shooting, especially at longer focal lengths and ideal for shooting videos. The optical zoom is extendable to 32x using Inteligent Resolution Technology, without any discernible drop in image quality.
High Sensitivity and High Speed
Sports fan? Like to shoot in low light? No problem. The FZ-150 uses a High Sensitivity MOS image sensor that can record images at ISO 3200 sensitivity at full image resolution. Lower sensor noise levels and top a spec Venus Engine processor chip keep image noise out of the way, even in very dim conditions. As well as being extra sensitive, the FZ 150 can record high speed image bursts at up to 12frames per second burst, again at full resolution. (5.5fps with continuous AF). Other highlights include up to 220 frames per second in QVGA mode and 0.1 second Autofocus speed.
High Quality Full HD Movies
Records in Full 1080, 50p resolution with a fast bit rate of 28Mbps for maximum image detail. The picture type is progressive for twice the information per second – plus there’s Dolby Digital Stereo Creator and Zoom Noise Canceller for great sound quality.
Full Creative Control
The DMC-FZ150 includes full manual control in both photo and video modes so you have ultimate creative freedom. You can also apply effects such as miniature, and the unique Photo Style feature where you can fine-tune contrast, sharpness, saturation and noise reduction.

- If you are used to other Lumix cameras this model is easy to find your way round.
Light to carry and no need for additional lenses.
Picture & Video qualities are excellent. - Bad Points
- Apart from the basic operating instruction booklet the full Manual has to be read on screen!
Obviously to keep the price competitive but to get the full benefit of this camera a paper manual needs to be provided or available as an optional extra at cost price.

- Good Points
- Generally a lot of bang for your buck, but much of it not often useful. Rear screen very good, and fairly visible in sunlight. Very little distortion or aberration. Reasonable battery life. A tad expensive for a bridge camera, but even so, good value for what is on offer here.
- Bad Points
- Several design errors - erratic and difficult video start/stop due to switch position and type, vignetting when extension tube fitted, poor EFV resolution, wind cut audio filter very poor, no audio level control - much too sensitive. Tripod bush not central, and flip-out viewfinder binds on tripod unless a spacing washer is fitted.
