- The lens focuses very quickly in low light situations, the image quality and fine detail are very good - the resolution is higher than my L series zooms but the lens, having a fixed focal length, is obviously not at versatile. Over all a good portrait lens.... however read the bad point below.....
- Bad Points
- As previously mentioned you do get some purple fringing when using the lens wide open. However, this only seems to happen in areas of high contrast eg when the subject is shot backlit by the sun or other light source. The whole image isn't effected, just parts of the subjects outline - you can correct this in photoshop if you want or you not shoot in situations when purple fringing is going to occur.....
