Successor to the highly respected EF 80-200 2.8 L.Incorporates improvements such as wider zooming range and ring USMThe closest focusing distance has also been reduced from 1.8m to 1.5m. Full-time manual focusing. Extender compatibilty (Extender EF 1.4x and EF 2x converts the lens to 98-280mm f4 and 140-400mm f5.6 respectively), and better peripheral brightness are among man other improvements. Chromatic aberatons are corrected by four low-refraction, low-dispersion UD elements. The result is comparable to that of single focal length lenses.

- Good Points
- Fantastic lens if you are not shooting under low light conditions. Well worth the money you spend on this lens since the image quality is unbeatable. Go for it if you want to photograph the best of the best in terms of image quality. I am very happy with the product.
- Bad Points
- You may need to calibrate this lens with your camera body. If you can't do it, you may have to send it to Canon. They will do a good job. A bit heavy to carry. I generally carry the body by holding the lens when this glass is on. Apart from these minor aspects, it's a fantastic lens.
