20% lighter and 25% smaller than Canon's previous compact Image Stabiliser binoculars, the 8x25 IS binoculars are as well suited for use in the theatre as they are at a sports event. On holiday for amateur landscape and wildlife observation they would also come in handy.

Ergonomic design
Built for comfort with a rounded casing, the 8x25IS are extremely compact and weigh just 495 g, including battery. The IS switch is located on the top of the binoculars, and the focusing knob can be easily reached with the fingers of either hand.

Image stabiliser
Hand shake is corrected by a newly developed tilt system image stabiliser, which is smaller and lighter than the VAP (vari-angle prism) used in previous models. The image stabiliser, which only operates when the IS switch is pressed, has a six-hour life on a single CR123A lithium battery.

Optical Quality
The 8x25IS ensure a clear, flat image without colour aberations. This is achieved by combining special field-flattening lenses in the eyepiece with the tilt system to suppress chromatic aberrations. A super-spectra coating also reduces flare and ghosting, thereby producing a high degree of contrast.

Actual and apparent field of view, eye relief and closest focusing distance approach the quality of professional binoculars. And, as you would expect from Canon, the use of lead-free glass helps to protect the environment.
