High quality components
The HDC-HS9 is equipped with a 3CCD image sensor for the best colour accuracy and also has an Optical Image Stabiliser for steady shooting without affecting image quality.

Face Detection
This feature locates any faces in the frame and adjusts exposure, contrast and skin tone to give the best possible results.

Digital Cinema Colour
Sets the camcorder to record with a colour palette close to that of Hollywood cinema. If you have a Panasonic Viera Plasma TV with x.v.Color you can additionally optimise your recording to fully appreciate its wider colour range.

Leica Optics
The HDC-SD9 is equipped with a Leica Dicomar 10x zoom lens that has been specially designed for use with High Definition camcorders. Its advanced coatings also help to further reduce flare and ghosting. The Tele-Macro capability of this lens means that shooting from as little as 50cm away is possible at full zoom setting.

HD Advanced Pure Color Engine
This imaging circuitry has been developed from Panasonic’s professional video range and is specifically designed for handling huge quantities quickly and efficiently whilst keeping power consumption to a minimum. LSI Video Compression is also used to make the most of data space without sacrificing image quality.

Surround Sound with Zoom and Focus modes
This model is equipped with five built-in microphones to make full use of Dolby 5.1-channel surround sound. In addition to this it is possible to focus in on sounds directly in the line of sight of the camera. Zoom Mode zooms in sympathy with the lens action and Focus Mode focuses on this area regardless of the zoom setting employed.

High Resolution 16:9 LCD Monitor
With 300,000 pixel resolution and full 16:9 frame coverage, it is possible to confidently assess the sharpness and overall image quality during recording. Its viewing angle of 170 degrees makes viewing from difficult angles far easier. For outdoor conditions, the Power LCD Extra feature increases brightness by 80% and increases contrast as well for intense lighting conditions.

Shooting Aid Functions
Equipped with the following to assist with shooting:

• Focus Assist- Enlarges the centre of the image when focusing manually
• Composition Guide Lines- Grid lines to keep image level
• Pre-Record function- Records 3 seconds as a buffer so you don’t miss a moment through pressing the Record button too slowly
• Intelligent Contrast Control- prevents burnt-out highlights and blacked-out shadows
• MagicPix®Images for smooth images in low light and high 1 Lux sensitivity

Intelligent Shooting Guide
Detects when shooting conditions are potentially poor and accordingly gives advice to the user- eg to turn on image stabilisation when shake is detected or to turn on Low Light Mode when light is fading. Upon playback, if desired, the Intelligent Shooting Selection will automatically skip over portions with serious recording errors.

Burst Mode
Can take up to 24 consecutive shots in a second or 72 consecutive shots in three seconds.

HDMI and SD Connectivity
Either connect via HDMI to your High Definition TV of alternatively if you have a Panasonic VIERA PZ850 series TV or Blu-ray Disc™ Player BD30 you can insert your SD/ SDHC card and it will be ready to play back your footage. You can also copy from HDD to SD/ SDHC card or vice versa without a computer or connect to a DVD burner through the USB port.
